If you have moved to San Antonio, found an apartment, but are not sure which University to enroll in, a really good option for enrollment is UTSA. UTSA serves the San Antonio area and the broader region of South Texas through programs offered from it's three campus's.
UTSA started as a satellite campus of UT Austin in 1969 and has gone from 671 students in 1973, to over 28,000 students
in 2008. The University offers 64 bachelor's, 44 master's and 20 doctoral degree programs with 10 doctoral and 5 master programs in the planning stages. If you want to enroll at UTSA there are several requirements: If you are in the top 25% of your class, there is no minimum score but you still must submit your SAT scores. If your class rank is in the second 25% your score must be at least a 920. Third and fourth 25th percentile students must attain a score of at least 970 and 1020 respectively. Score requirements for the ACT are the same way. Second, Third and Fourth 25th percentile students must have a 19, 20, and 21 on their ACTs. Please note: The University will not accept scores from your high school. Scores must be sent directly from the testing company. Tuition for in state residents is $3,096 a semester and $10,000 a semester for out of state residents. Tuition help is available, and most students use some form of aid.
If you decide to enroll in classes and are going to be a freshman with fewer than 30 hours, the University recommends that you live on campus. There are 3 residence halla and one on campus apartment complex. Chapparal Village house approximately 1000 students. The residence hall offers students a private bedroom in either a 2 or 4 bedroom suite. Vanities are shared with only one other person. It is fully furnished, and all utilities, cable, internet and local telephone service, with free long distance anywhere in the United States. Laurel and Chisholm halls are close to class, both have private bathrooms with double vanities. They both have activity centers, where you can play volley ball and there is even a 24 hour study area! Finally, University Oaks is the only on-campus apartment provided by UTSA. All apartments have a full service kitchen, stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and built in study area. All residents must pay for their own utilities and 2 and 4 bedroom suites are full furnished.
